Greetings from Canada
I'm new to the forum, so I thought I'd post an introduction...for some reason. I love the music, it's very inspiring! Everyone that I introduce to it is very impressed, including, my friends at piano camp, my family, and aquaintances. I was going to play "Apasionada" for music festival, but had to cut it because it wasn't listed in the syllabus. Still working on it though.
Play On,
Joseph B.

Hi Joseph,
Happy to hear from you! Sounds fun!! I play some of the grade 8 pieces. John Field's Nocturne is lovely to play as well from grade 8. I love playing Beethoven Sonatas. I make sure to play atleast one or 2 movements of a Beethoven sonata and one piece by Bach everyday.
Currently from RCM repertoire, I'm working on Beethoven's Pathetique sonata - movements 2 & 3, Bach's prelude and fugue(d major BWV850), Schubert's impromptu(eflat major #2).
Also working on Beyond (WJ), Almost a whisper by Yanni, Chopin - Nocturne (op9#2). I love Felix Mendelssohn as well. I love his Venetian Boat Song.
I seriously think RCM must include William Joseph & Yanni in the curriculum. I would love to hear you play sometime.
Hello Joseph B,
I'm from Brampton, Ontario. I would love to hear what pieces you are working on. I'm working on some of the grade 10 pieces from the RCM books. I'm working on WJ's Beyond. That is such a fun piece to play. In fact I can't wait to play the entire 'Beyond' book. Apasionada is so much fun as well. I think that's one of the pieces that William plays laying on the bench:) I'm also working on some Yanni's pieces.
I would love to hear more from you!

This year I'm working from the Gr. 8 books. I'm playing Poetic Tone Picture, op. 3, no. 1 by Edvard Grieg; Etude in D Minor op. 45, no 15 by Stephen Heller; etc. I improv a lot, and I spend a lot of time arranging pre-existing tunes for recitals and whatnot. TBH I don't really use sheet music for most of the stuff I play for fun, you can't really buy it up here...and I usually get impatient and just make up my own version. It's a lot of fun to do, but I can't really play it for festival and such because they're very strict about having an original score of the pieces.
I play a lot of different stuff. Lots of Romantic, moody/melancholy type songs. I also play whatever gets stuck in my head, sometimes Enya, sometimes, Josh Groban ("February Song" atm), sometimes Beyonce ("Halo" is my new guilty piano pleasure).
I started working on Beyond, then fell in love with Apasionada. My teacher told me today that I should keep working on it, even though I can't play it in festival, and that I should play it next year for a recital. I agree:)
Anyways, I'm done rambling. What RCM reportiore are you working on?
